Okui Masami

Masami Okui was first introduced to rock and pop in middle school. She became the lead vocalist of a band and decided to enter the Osaka University of Arts. During the middle of a school term she left abruptly, deciding that she wanted to go professional. She packed up her bags and went to Tokyo. She first began her career as a back-up singer for Yuki Saitoh, Tomoyo Harada, Wink, and many others. In 1991, she debuted with Dare Yori mo Zutto and began her solo career. Later in 2001, she released her first album and toured Japan. Masami is now a legend in jpop music and with anime fans. She has published columns in Newtype magazine, sang themes for numerous animes, and co-hosted the TV Osaka music program M-VOICE. She has also worked closely with Megumi Hayashibara, Yonekura Chihiro, and Ishida Youko. In 2003, she created her own record label company titled.
